Xian (Shawn) Li

Xian (Shawn) Li is an Assistant Teaching Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Northeastern University's Seattle campus. He earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University and completed postdoctoral research in Computer and Information Science at the University of Pennsylvania. He also has prior teaching experience in robotics at the University of Virginia's School of Engineering and Applied Science. His work advances human centered assistive robotics through wearable sensing, human in the loop autonomy, and distributed cyber physical systems, enabling intelligent robotic technologies for rehabilitation, smart health, and adaptive human–machine collaboration. He also has extensive experience in mobile robotics, robot sensing, and navigation, with a strong focus on interdisciplinary robotics research.
